01.11.2011 - Israel Ministry of Defence along with Ambassador of Israel Mr. Itzhak Shoham presents the following donations, 30 boats, 187 life vests and 1,000 sets of medical supplies to Thailand Defence Minister, General Yuthasak Sasiprapha.

SFC Gilad Shalit has crossed the border into Israel.

He was greeted by officers from the Southern Command, representatives from the IDF Personnel Directorate, the IDF Medical Corps and a team from the Prisoners of War and Missing in Action Department.

SFC Shalit has also been transferred to an IDF base near the crossing point, where he is to speak with his family on the phone and undergo an initial medical examination. Immediately afterwards, he will be flown in an IAF helicopter to an IDF base in central Israel, where he will be reunited with his family, ending his 5 years in captivity.

The Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation in association with the Embassy

of Israel in Thailand, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and B.Grimm present the “BEST OF BAROQUE” performed by the world’s renowned baroque ensemble

“IL GARDELLINO” which specializes in music of 16th and 17th centuries. The concert will be held on Sunday September 25th, 2011 at 7 pm., (5th Floor), Auditorium of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.

 

The program will feature baroque masterpieces : Marcello’s  Oboe concerto in

D minor A.Vivaldi’s Sinfornia Al santo sepolchro for strings, Concerto“La Notte”

for Flute J.G. Janitsch’s Quartet in G for oboe, violin, viola and basso continuo

“O Haupt” and J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No.5 in D Major.

 

After having performed and been highly raised at many festivals and concert halls in Europe,

Il Gardellino has been recently enjoying ever increasing success in the USA, Israel, South America, and Japan.  Many CDs have been released on the Accent, Klara and Passacaille labels.

 

For Bangkok’s performance – the ensemble‘s members include Shalev-Ad El (Israeli-Harpsichord), Ira Givol, (Israeli-Cello), Jan De Winne (Belgian-Flute), Marcel Ponseele (Belgian-Oboe), Ryo Terakado (Japanese-violin), Mika Akiha (Japanese-viola), and Sophie Gent (Australian-violin).

 

This evening will present a unique concert and a rare opportunity for music lovers to hear the best known baroque masterpieces performed by world class artists playing authentic baroque styles.

INFINITY art exhibition by David Gerstein

In the evening of July the 7th, the National Gallery on Chaofah Road was brightened up by the vibrant creativities of David Gerstein, an Israeli who is a painter, a sculptor, an excellent draughtsman and a craftsman. He has combined several still objects and turned them into a picturesque structure full of motions and colours. Gerstein’s creativity is an artistic breakthrough in terms of static art. The artist has also received great recognitions around the world for his creation. Numerous works of him have been chosen to appear in many countries as a landmark or an aesthetic symbol. In every respect, his work has essentially offered happiness and inspiration to audiences of all ages.

INFINITY art exhibition is a cooperation between the Thai Fine Arts Department and the Embassy of Israel in Bangkok. The event will be displayed until July 29 at the National Gallery on Chao Fah Road. Open hours: 09.00 – 16.00 hours Wednesday-Sunday (closed on Monday-Tuesday and national holidays)

Shalom Club, Mashav Alumni Gathering at Patravadi Theatre

15 March 2011- Embassy of Israel in association with Patravadi Theatre hosted a show "Paper Cut", performed by an Israeli talented artist, Yael Rasooly. The show was part of the Shalom club, a club which serves as a forum for Mashav alumni to participate in professional and social activities. The event was visited by many notable Mashav ex-participants who took this opportunity to catch up with news from other fellow alumni, and to have a good laugh along with Yael Rasooly’s performance. The event was launched by cordial speeches from H.E. Mr. Itzhak Shoham, Israeli Ambassador to Thailand, Dr.Mechai Viravaidya and Dr.Chandhita Pruksananondu. The show, “Paper Cut” has gathered praises from the audience and left us all with good feeling for this gathering and the next to come.

WATEC 2011-The 6th International Exhibition & the 3rd International Conference on Water Technologies, Renewable Energies and Environmental Control in Tel Aviv, Israel

WATEC 2011 will be held on November 15-17, 2011 at the Trade Fairs Center in Tel Aviv. The Embassy of Israel in Thailand congratulates the Israeli physics team for its achievements at the 2011 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), which took place in Bangkok, Thailand. The team won two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal at the competiton. Their performances considered to be best in many years, in which makes Israel 13th in the world, four places up from last year. The International Physics Olympiad is an annual competition for high school students. This year contestants from 84 countries around the world participated. Israel has recently hosted the annual Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) – a prestigious international physics competition for secondary school students from Asia and Oceania regions.
