Aaron Goldberg Trio featuring Israeli musician, Omer Avital

Aaron Goldberg Trio, a three-piece jazz band featuring Israeli jazz musician Omer Avital, is joining theThailand International Jazz Conference 2010 (TIJF) and share stage with greatest jazz musicians from all over the world in late January.

 

Omer Avital is a member of Aaron Goldberg Trio for Thailand.  A poet of bass, Omer is hailed by international musicians, critics and fans as one of the most innovative and exceptional musicians of his generation. His compositions range from small jazz groups to orchestral and world music. The trio also includes Aaron Goldberg a pianist and drummer Gregory Hutchinson. Adding to the one-night-only performance, the three will conduct workshops separately. The TIJF 2010 is a three-day event starting from January 29-31, 2010.

Magic Shows from Israel for Charity in Bangkok

Gustavo, the Magician from Israel, gave two special charity shows for sick children at Vajira Hospital and Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital on Tuesday February 2, 2010.  Both hospitals are under the supervision of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.  The shows brought along broad smiles and laughter not only to the young patients who enjoyed all the tricks but also hospital executives, nurses and volunteers.

For the second time, dance troupe Hora Efrochim visitedThailand for a dazzling performance at the 4th Surin International Folklore Festival. The Jerusalem municipality representative children’s dance troupe also made a stop at Bangkok and perform at the press conference of the International Dance Festival 2010 on January 27, 2010 at Central World. The group wowed the audience and passer-by in Bangkok's top shopping complex.

 

Hora Efrochim is a part of Hora Jerusalem Association and was established in Israel for the 10-14 year old age group. The Dancers are chosen out of hundreds of applicants and perform Israeli folklore, ethnic and contemporary dance.

Israeli concert pianist Michael Tsalka had a special evening recital in Bangkok on Monday, January 18, 2010 at Nat Studio, Lad Prao. More than 50 audiences attended the recital. Prof. Tsalka also conducted a master class for Thai piano students from Nat Studio.

 

A versatile musician and music scholar, Professor Michael Tsalka has won numerous prizes awards and fellowships in Rome, Bonn, Paris, Tel-Aviv, Chicago among other places. In 2009, he was selected as Artist-in-Residence to the Anderson Center in Minneapolis, the Ragdale Foundation in Chicago and the Lions Palace in Berlin. Prior to a performance in Bangkok, he will have recitals in Hong Kong, Macau, Beijing, and Taipei.

 

Tsalka is professor for keyboards and chamber music at Escuela Superior de Musica, National Center for the Arts in Mexico City. His repertoire ranges from the Baroque to the Contemporary periods on the modern piano, harpsichord, forte piano, clavichord and positive organ.
